Macro tracking

Every gram, accounted for.

Calories are the headline; protein, carbs, and fat are the story. MacroTrackr tracks all four against targets you choose, and shows where you stand the moment you log a meal, not at the end of the day.

How targets work

Targets that fit

Set your own calorie and macro targets for cutting, maintaining or bulking, and change them whenever your goal changes.

Live dashboard

Rings and bars update the instant a meal lands. See what's left, not just what's gone.

Progress that survives a gap

A skipped day won't erase your history or your progress. Consistency beats a perfect-but-abandoned log.

Four numbers, one glance

Calories left, protein, carbs, and fat sit together on one screen with color-coded progress and overrun alerts when a macro slips past its target. No tab-switching, no mental math. You always know the one macro that still needs attention today.

Down to the meal

Every logged meal keeps its own protein, carb, fat, and calorie line, with photo drafts, text descriptions, and manual entries side by side. Open any entry to see exactly what it contributed and fix portions after the fact. Export the whole history to CSV whenever you want.

A day is not the unit that matters

One heavy dinner does not undo a week. The dashboard shows the day, but the trends page shows the pattern: your protein average, the days you drift, the weeks you held. Set the target once, then judge it over seven days instead of relitigating every meal.

Who reaches for this

Cutting without losing muscle

A deficit costs you muscle if protein drifts down with everything else. Watching a protein bar fill through the day is what keeps it from happening, because the gap is visible at lunch while you can still do something about it.

Training on a schedule

If you lift, carbs around sessions matter more than any daily total. Separate targets let you see whether you actually fuelled the session or just hit your calories with fat and called it even.

Getting off the scale-only loop

Weight alone tells you nothing about what changed. Tracking the three macros against a target turns a flat week into a readable one: you can see whether you held the plan or quietly stopped.

Macro tracking questions

Can I set my own macro numbers?

Yes. Protein, carbs and fat are yours to set in grams, alongside a calorie target. If you would rather start from a calculation, the goals screen can derive a starting point from your weight, activity and goal, and you can override any number afterwards.

What happens if I go over a target?

Nothing punitive. The ring fills past the line and the number goes red so you can see it, and that is the end of it. There are no streak penalties for a heavy day and no notifications telling you off.

Do the targets update as I lose or gain weight?

Not on their own. You change them when you decide to, from the goals screen. Nothing rewrites your numbers behind your back based on a weigh-in.

Can I track something other than the big three?

Calories and the three macros are what the dashboard rings track. Saved meals and barcode products also carry fibre, sugar, sodium and saturated fat where the source data has them, visible on the meal detail.

Does MacroTrackr work offline?

No. It is a web app and needs a connection. Logging, syncing and analysis all happen server-side. The upside is that your log follows you into any browser you sign in to, with no app store and no per-device setup.

Can I change targets without losing history?

Yes. Targets apply going forward; days you already logged keep the numbers they were measured against. Your history stays intact and comparable.
